Under the supervision of the Assistant Superintendent, the successful candidate provides leadership, and supervision of the educational development of students as well as promotes parental and community involvement. The incumbent works with other members of the building leadership team and staff in meeting building and district goals and objectives in support of the Wallingford-Swarthmore School District, its mission, vision, and strategic plan. Position to commence on July 1 of the 2026-2027 school year pending successful applicant's release from current employer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide instructional leadership and establish a safe, positive, and effective learning climate that supports student achievement and well-being.
- Plan, organize, and direct the daily operation of the school, ensuring the effective implementation of instructional programs, student services, and school activities.
- Supervise, evaluate, and support all professional, paraprofessional, and support staff, as assigned, including participation in recruitment, hiring, orientation, professional development, and performance management.
- Lead the development, implementation, and monitoring of the instructional program and curriculum in alignment with district goals, student needs, and established standards.
- Maintain high standards of student conduct and attendance; establish and enforce discipline policies consistent with due process and district guidelines.
- Prepare, administer, and monitor the school budget and activity funds; maintain appropriate fiscal controls, records, and accountability.
- Ensure accurate maintenance of student, staff, and building records; prepare required reports and documentation in accordance with district and state requirements.
- Oversee the safety, security, and maintenance of the school, including emergency preparedness, drills, and daily use of facilities for academic and extracurricular purposes.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents/guardians, staff, and district administration; serve as the primary point of contact for school-related information, concerns, and public relations.
- Collaborate with district leadership, committees, and external partners; participate in required meetings and engage in ongoing professional growth and development.
- Regular and timely attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Valid Pennsylvania Administrative I or II Principal's Certification

Master's degree, and a minimum of five years teaching experience and at least three years of administrative experience.

Ability to relate and communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff
