Job Description
The Engineering Lab Technician provides critical engineering support for Elemental LED's award-winning portfolio of lighting products, dimmers, and drivers. The position primarily involves a mix of electrical, mechanical, and photometric testing utilizing computer-controlled instrumentation.
Essential Job Functions
- Assembly and testing of LED-based lighting systems including linear light strips, power supplies, lighting controllers, channels, lenses, connectors, and junction boxes
- Use lab equipment including computers, digital oscilloscopes, precision meters, and power supplies required to perform testing duties
- Characterize and understand electrical input and output relationships between controllers, driver/power supplies, and LED lighting products
- Prepare equipment and lighting system components for testing
- Perform functional and photometric/radiometric tests of LED-based lighting systems
- Perform basic thermal testing of Lighting systems and components
- Record testing data and complete Test Reports
General Knowledge, Education, And Experience
- Associate's degree, with an emphasis in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering with an electronics background, or related experience
- Effective oral and written communication skills with the ability to provide information across multiple groups in the Company including Engineering, Marketing, and Sales
- Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to work independently
- Computer proficient with knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Outlook)
- Knowledge of analog, digital, and high-voltage circuitry
