Job Summary:
The Medical Assistant will work closely with nurses and administrative staff to ensure efficient clinic operations and excellent patient care. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and recording medical histories
- Assist providers during exams and minor procedures
- Administer injections, medications, and perform removal of intravenous catheters
- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
- Handle phone calls, patient inquiries, and follow-ups
- Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and organized
- Comply with all HIPAA and clinic policies
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required)
- Completion of a Medical Assistant program (preferred)
- Certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) is a plus
- Previous experience in a clinical setting preferred
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems
