Duties
- Set up, program, and operate CNC laser cutting machines to produce precise parts according to blueprints and technical specifications
- Read and interpret detailed engineering drawings, blueprints, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) to ensure accurate fabrication
- Perform routine machine maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting to maintain optimal performance
- Use hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments for quality inspection and measurement verification
- Fabricate components using various tools such as press brake machines, CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, plasma cutters, and welding equipment
- Manage tooling setups and adjustments for different sheet metal types and thicknesses
- Operate forklifts and cranes safely to move raw materials or finished products within the workspace
- Conduct quality inspections throughout the production process to meet strict standards for accuracy and finish
Experience
- Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting machinery with a strong understanding of CNC programming principles
- Mechanical knowledge related to machining processes, fabrication techniques, and tooling management
- Familiarity with blueprint reading, GD&T standards, and basic math skills necessary for precise measurements
- Hands-on experience with welding, electrical discharge machining (EDM), plasma cutting, stamping presses, CNC milling machines, and CNC lathes is highly desirable
- Ability to use hand tools such as calipers, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments confidently
- Knowledge of safety protocols involving forklifts, cranes, sheet metal handling, and manufacturing environments
- Prior experience in quality inspection roles within manufacturing or fabrication settings is preferred
