We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented CNC Laser Operator to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC laser cutting machines to produce precise metal components according to specifications. Duties
- Set up CNC laser cutting machines, including loading programs, adjusting parameters, and calibrating equipment for optimal performance
- Operate CNC laser systems to cut sheet metal and other materials with precision and consistency
- Interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate fabrication
- Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshooting on laser machinery to minimize downtime and maintain quality standards
- Perform quality inspections using micrometers, calipers, and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions and tolerances
- Utilize hand tools, tooling, and fabrication equipment such as press brake machines, CNC milling machines, lathes, welding tools, plasma cutters, electrical discharge machining (EDM), stamping presses, and crane systems as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work area while adhering to safety protocols at all times
Requirements
- Proven experience operating CNC laser cutting machines in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Strong mechanical knowledge of machining processes including CNC programming and setup procedures
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately
- Familiarity with various fabrication tools such as hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and precision measuring instruments
- Knowledge of safety standards related to welding, plasma cutting, electrical discharge machining (EDM), and heavy machinery operation including cranes and forklift certification is preferred
- Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions or material requirements
- Understanding of manufacturing processes including sheet metal fabrication, assembly, tooling selection, and quality inspection techniques
- Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
