SUMMARY (Overall Purpose of This Position)
A Resource Teacher at Element Learning Center is a passionate, skilled early childhood educator committed to excellence in both teaching and care. Resource Teachers demonstrate exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, have experience working in early childhood environments, and carry a genuine love for children, families, and their fellow staff. Each day, an Resource Teacher commits to keeping students safe, building community, inspiring growth, and bringing joy and enthusiasm to the classroom.
The Resource Teacher is responsible for assisting our Lead Teachers and Assistant Teachers in various classrooms throughout the day assessing children’s developmental needs, fostering their physical, emotional, social, and intellectual growth, and maintaining a safe, healthy learning environment rooted in play and exploration. Resource Teachers assisting in younger classrooms will also support diapering, feeding, and naptime routines.
Essential DUTIES, responsibilities, Accountabilities & Deliverables
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead and Assistant Teachers as needed throughout the day.
- Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with families.
- Participate actively in staff meetings and professional development days.
- Collaborate with Center administration and peers to address classroom or Center needs.
- Maintain professionalism in all interactions with children, families, and staff.
- Know and comply with all state and local childcare regulations and classroom management requirements.
- Assist in carrying out naptime routines (arranging cots, soothing children to sleep, etc.).
- Diaper children in accordance with state licensing guidelines.
- Assist with feeding routines.
Qualifications / experience required /Main Competencies
· Meets all state-specific requirements for a Resource Teacher.
· Able to lift at least 40 lbs.
· Affirms and supports the Statement of Beliefs of Element Church.
· Actively attends and is involved in a local Christian church (attendance at Element Church is not required).
Pay: From $18.00 per hour
