Summary
The Controller is responsible for leading the accounting function and ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial information. This role requires a strong understanding of manufacturing operations and will partner closely with leadership to support business performance while building scalable processes.
Primary Responsibilities
Accounting & Financial Reporting
- Lead all accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and cost accounting
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Ensure integrity of the balance sheet and income statement through disciplined reconciliation processes
- Establish and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures
Manufacturing & Business Support
- Maintain accurate cost accounting, inventory, and related financial processes
- Partner with operations and supply chain to support financial visibility and decision-making
- Monitor inventory, WIP, and related reserves
- Provide clear financial analysis to support performance and profitability
Process Improvement & Systems
- Improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of accounting processes
- Strengthen and streamline the financial close process
- Support ERP optimization and system enhancements
- Implement process improvements that reduce manual work and improve data quality
Audit, Tax, and Compliance
- Lead external audits and ensure audit readiness
- Oversee tax compliance in coordination with external advisors
- Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements
- Maintain a strong internal control environment
Multi-Site & Reporting
- Consolidate and manage financial results across multiple locations
- Support leadership with financial reporting and analysis
- Serve as a key financial point of contact for external stakeholders as needed
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop a best-in-class accounting team
- Establish clear expectations, ownership, and accountability
- Improve overall capability and performance of the function
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 7 years of progressive accounting experience
- Experience in a manufacturing or EMS (Electronic Manufacturing (Services) environment
- Strong understanding of inventory, WIP, and cost accounting
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience leading month-end close and financial statement preparation
- Experience working in an ERP-driven environment
- Must qualify as a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident) in accordance with ITAR requirements
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CMA
- Experience in defense, aerospace, medical, or other regulated manufacturing environments
- Experience working across multiple sites or entities
- Experience with Epicor ERP and/or Datarails
- Experience supporting M&A integration and post-acquisition process alignment
