Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Night Shift QA Inspector to join our team. This role involves performing precision inspections of aerospace components using hand tools and metrology equipment, interpreting engineering drawings with GD&T, and ensuring non-conforming parts are properly tracked in our ERP system. The ideal candidate will have prior inspection experience, strong communication skills, and a commitment to producing quality results. On-the-job training is provided for advanced inspection tools such as portable metrology equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform inspection of parts using mics, calipers, height gages, bore gages, comparator, and similar tools
Interpret drawings using GD&T and coordinate dimensioning
Create non-conformances and track parts in the ERP system
Maintain accurate inspection documentation and clear communication with supervisors and engineers
Develop proficiency with portable metrology equipment such as the Romer Arm using PolyWorks software
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve inspection issues and ensure part quality
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Prior experience using hand inspection tools (mics, calipers, height gages, gage pins) required
Experience creating or using AS9102 inspection forms preferred
Familiarity with non-conformance or corrective action reporting preferred
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word) required
Solid knowledge of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) required
Exposure to CAD software (CATIA or SolidWorks) for dimension extraction preferred
Skills:
Strong attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with inspection and engineering teams
Reliable and consistent attendance is essential
Bonus Knowledge:
Portable metrology experience (Romer Arms, Trackers)
CMM experience with associated software
Advanced CAD skills (SolidWorks, CATIA)
Machining knowledge (manual or CNC)
Familiarity with Boeing specifications
Other Requirements:
Night Shift schedule: Mon - Thurs, 3:00 PM - 1:30 AM (4x10s)
Flexible hours and overtime availability when needed
Background check and drug screen required
Ability to lift up-to 30 lbs. and stand for extended periods in a fast-paced environment
Compensation & Benefits:
Pay: $30 - $35/hour DOE
