Electro Controls, a Montana-based commercial building automation and controls contractor, has an opening for a Building Automation Controls Technician. Established in 1982, Electro Controls specializes in the sales, installation, service and support of commercial Building Automation Systems and Energy Management Solutions.

Role:
- Collaborate with the Electro Controls team; including our team of project managers, application engineers, and system integrators for a complete BAS installation
- Collaborate with general contractors, and MEP subcontractors on projects to coordinate the installation process. Communicate job progress and project issues with management and the client
- Utilize blueprints, engineering specifications, and wiring diagrams to perform installation, calibration, diagnostics, and basic commissioning
- Test, diagnose, and repair sophisticated building environment and energy management control systems
- Demonstrate a high degree of regard for customer, coworkers, and subcontractor safety by following safety standards, and attend required safety training
Responsibilities will include:
- Run low voltage and network wire in new construction and retrofit space
- Installing conduit and mounting control panels
- Wire and troubleshoot controls for VAV boxes, RTUs, AHUs, central plants and other miscellaneous mechanical equipment
- Commission controllers and systems with an application engineer or system integrator
- Troubleshoot line voltage issues
- Troubleshoot control and related systems issues
- Manage assigned work to meet professional execution of time and customer satisfaction
- Maintain a record of open items/punch list for assigned jobs and report problems or changes to project management team immediately
- Clearly communicate job status to project management team
- Understand and adhere to company standards for work
- Adhere to company and customer safety standards. Provide safety awareness on work sites
- Coordinate with other trades and GCs on work sites in an ethical and professional manner
Requirements:
- High School diploma, equivalent, or demonstrated experience
- Valid driver’s license in good standing
- Basic computer skills
- Able to use hand and power tools (i.e. drills, saws, etc.)
- Demonstrate an ability to install and/or service electronic control systems and HVAC equipment
- Professional communication skills
- Possess the ability to explain technical information to technical and non-technical people
- Demonstrate effective writing skills as well as understanding of basic coding and software applications. (fundamental training provided)
- Must be punctual and adhere to a daily schedule with multiple appointments in different locations
Additional Qualifications:
- Vocational School two-year program graduate, an Associate’s degree in a technical field, or a minimum of two years experience in this field
- Knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems, and other building subsystems

Pay: $40.00 - $72.00 per hour
