Job Overview: The Electrical Material Handler is responsible for managing and organizing electrical materials and supplies. Key Responsibilities:
Receiving and Inspection:
- Receive electrical materials and components from suppliers and vendors.
- Inspect incoming shipments for damage, accuracy, and completeness.
- Document and report any discrepancies or quality issues.
Inventory Management:
- Organize and store electrical materials in designated areas, ensuring proper handling and protection.
- Maintain accurate inventory records using manual or computerized systems.
- Conduct regular inventory audits to ensure stock levels are accurate and up-to-date.
Material Distribution:
- Prepare and package materials for distribution to internal departments or external clients.
- Coordinate with other departments to fulfill material requests and ensure timely delivery.
- Utilize warehouse management systems to track and manage material movements.
- Transport materials from supply houses to office as needed.
Safety and Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety protocols and regulations to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and maintain a clean and organized work area.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of material receipts, distributions, and inventory levels.
- Generate and submit reports on inventory status, material usage, and any issues encountered.
- Assist in preparing reports for audits and inventory assessments.
- Assist in keeping accurate material usage logs from electrical service jobs.
Customer Service:
- Provide excellent service to internal and external customers
- Ensure timely and accurate fulfillment of material requests.
- Address and resolve any issues or concerns related to material handling and distribution.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional training in electrical systems or materials handling is a plus.
- Proven experience in material handling, preferably in an electrical or industrial setting.
- Ability to operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts and pallet jacks is a plus.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Basic computer skills. Experience with inventory management software is a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and carry heavy materials.
