What are the responsibilities and job description for the Material Handler position at Trillium Flow Technologies?
Purpose
The Material Handler performs a variety of material handling duties to support the Inventory Control department. This position plays a key role in ensuring materials are available to support customer on-time delivery across manufacturing and assembly operations.
Key Responsibilities
Stock and maintain raw materials, work-in-process, purchased parts, and assemblies as designated by Supervisor or system reports (e.g., dispatch reports, BOMs, pick lists, COs, POs, and JOLs).
Transfer and transport materials to appropriate departments or storage locations.
Accurately pull customer orders (COs) and pump Job Order Listings (JOLs); verify accuracy before delivery to Machining, Assembly, or Shipping departments.
Monitor shortage reports and fulfill material shortages promptly as inventory becomes available.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely material availability and support production schedules.
Perform inventory-related computer transactions, including receipts, cycle counts, stock adjustments, and location updates.
Participate in cycle counts and physical inventories as required.
Unload, uncrate, and unpack materials using lift trucks or manual handling; store in designated areas.
Inspect, count, and weigh materials; prepare for internal or external delivery.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with all safety and ISO 9001/14001/45001 standards.
Handle hazardous materials following established procedures (certification required).
Adhere to company policies, code of conduct, and attendance standards.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
2 years of experience in receiving, warehouse, or logistics roles preferred.
Familiarity with receiving procedures, inventory management, and material handling equipment.
Forklift certification
Proficiency with inventory management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Work Environment
The work environment varies depending on the department. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as safety glasses, steel-toed shoes, and ear protection may be required in designated areas. Noise levels may fluctuate based on operations.
FLSA Classification: Hourly/Non-Exempt
Compensation Range: $19.00-$20.00 per hour (Compensation will be determined based on experience and qualifications)
