What are the responsibilities and job description for the Automation Engineer position at Electrical Automation Services?
Responsibilities
- Support capital projects from concept through execution, including requirements gathering, vendor coordination, and project delivery
- Provide technical leadership in PLC programming, HMI systems, and automation standards
- Develop and maintain automation documentation, including electrical diagrams, P&IDs, and control logic
- Support process data collection, reporting systems, and dashboards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver projects on time and within scope and budget
- Troubleshoot and optimize automation systems to improve reliability and performance
- Mentor team members and support continuous improvement initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or related field preferred)
- 7–10 years of experience in automation within a manufacturing environment
- Strong experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley preferred)
- Experience with HMI systems such as FactoryTalk View or Ignition
- Knowledge of industrial networks (Ethernet/IP) and process historians
- Experience with electrical controls design and automation systems
- Ability to read and develop electrical schematics and process diagrams
- Strong project management and problem-solving skills

Salary : $120,000 - $165,000
