Senior Jewelry Production Manager

The Senior Production Manager owns the execution of the production lifecycle from purchase order management and vendor coordination to inventory accuracy, system integrity, and launch readiness. This role partners closely with the Inventory & Allocation team to execute against inventory plans, ensuring product is produced, delivered, and available on time to support launches, fulfillment, and business needs.

This role is responsible for overseeing the entire production process, ensuring that all aspects from purchase order management to inventory accuracy are executed efficiently and effectively.

Responsibilities

Production Execution & PO Management

• Create, manage, and track all purchase orders based on inventory plans provided by Inventory & Allocation
• Monitor production timelines and ensure factories are meeting agreed ship dates
• Proactively identify and resolve delays, risks, or supply issues
• Maintain clear communication with vendors on priorities, timelines, and updates

Vendor & Factory Management

• Own day-to-day communication with factories across production, timelines, and issue resolution
• Ensure vendors are aligned on product specs, packaging requirements, and quality expectations
• Review and verify factory invoices for accuracy (costs, quantities, terms)
• Resolve quality issues, including reimbursements, remakes, or credits

Inventory Systems & Data Integrity

• Own accuracy and maintenance of all SKU and production data within inventory systems (Luminous)
• Oversee:
• Master SKU and variant setup
• Cost inputs and vendor SKU mapping
• BOMs, kits, and set configurations
• Ensure accurate syncing between inventory systems and Shopify
• Identify and resolve system discrepancies and drive process improvements

Launch Readiness & Product Setup

• Ensure all SKUs are fully and accurately set up ahead of launches:
• Product data
• Inventory quantities
• System syncing
• Partner with Ecommerce and Marketing to confirm production readiness for all launches, drops, and promotions
• Flag any risks to launch timelines or inventory availability

Inventory Operations Oversight

• Oversee inbound shipment receiving and ensure accurate intake into inventory systems
• Maintain visibility into incoming, in-progress, and available inventory
• Establish and enforce processes for cycle counts and inventory accuracy
• Partner with the Assistant Production Manager to ensure smooth product flow to fulfillment

Packaging & Materials Management

• Own ordering and inventory of all packaging materials
• Ensure factories are equipped with correct packaging for all SKUs, collaborations, and special projects
• Maintain packaging standards and consistency across production

Reporting & Execution Visibility

• Track and report on:
• PO status and delays
• Vendor performance
• Production risks
• Provide operational visibility to Director of Inventory & Allocation and leadership
• Support inventory reporting in partnership with Accounting (cost validation, invoice tracking)

Cross-Functional Partnership

• Act as the primary bridge between:
• Inventory & Allocation → planning inputs
• Production → execution
• Operations/Shipping → product flow and readiness
• Ecommerce/Marketing → launch timing and priorities
• Ensure alignment between planned inventory and actual production status

Team Leadership

• Manage and develop the production team
• Delegate and oversee:
• Receiving and inventory intake
• Backstock organization
• Daily production workflow preparation
• Build scalable processes to support growth and reduce manual work

Qualifications

• 4–7 years in production, supply chain, or inventory operations (Jewelry, DTC or consumer goods preferred)
• Strong experience with inventory systems (Luminous or similar ERP)
• High attention to detail with strong data accuracy discipline
• Experience managing vendors and production timelines
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to operate cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment
