About

Electric Era was founded to revolutionize the world's electric vehicle charging infrastructure. We have developed high performance and autonomous EV fast charging stations that can be deployed anywhere on the grid. We provide the necessary charging infrastructure innovation needed for the affordable and timely electrification of all transportation. We are accelerating the world into the Electric Era. Join us.

Role

Electric Era is hiring a Traveling Electrical Technician to support the commissioning and maintenance of our battery-backed DC fast charging stations. This role is essential to our mission of electrifying transportation by powering reliable EV charging.

In this position, you’ll split your time between two key areas:

  • Commissioning (≈50%) – Hands-on work in the field to bring new equipment online. You’ll set up, test, and verify systems to ensure every new station meets our highest standards for safety, reliability, and real-world performance before serving customers.
  • Maintenance (≈50%) – Supporting the ongoing health of our deployed fleet through a mix of onsite and remote work. This includes troubleshooting and repairs in the field, coordinating planned operations, managing contractors during maintenance activities, and ensuring clear documentation of all work completed.

The ideal candidate thrives in challenging environments, takes pride in precision work, and brings a flexible, can-do disposition to whatever task arises. Depending on the situation, you may perform maintenance yourself, manage third-party contractors, or occasionally assist in the factory with assembly and testing. You’ll collaborate closely with engineers, logistics teams, and vendors to ensure all work meets Electric Era’s safety, quality, and reliability standards.

This role is best suited for someone who thrives on variety, enjoys working hands-on, and is eager to step in wherever needed to keep our systems running at their best—all while helping accelerate the transition to reliable EV charging nationwide.

  • Interpret electrical schematics and technical documentation to conduct troubleshooting, repairs, and commissioning activities
  • Work safely on high-voltage 480V 3-phase systems, applying knowledge of lockout/tagout, PPE, grounding, and arc-flash safety practices
  • Lead and provide direction to teams of contractors, both onsite and remotely, during commissioning and maintenance operations
  • Ensure product quality and conformance to specifications, including the National Electrical Code (NEC), OSHA standards, and local regulations
  • Use multimeters, phase rotation tester, infrared camera, clamp meters, oscilloscopes, or proprietary diagnostic tools to troubleshoot issues for power electronics
  • Collaborate with leadership, site managers, engineers, and contractors to complete work safely, efficiently, and in a professional manner
  • Respond to after-hours emergencies and be part of an on-call rotation as needed
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring an efficient and effective work environment

  • Demonstrate basic computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) for documentation and communication
