Job Description:
We are seeking dependable, hardworking individuals to join our winter snow-removal team. The primary responsibility is to respond to snow and ice events in the designated service areas (West Des Moines and Ankeny) and assist with clearing driveways, parking lots, walkways and other client sites. This is an on-call role — storms don’t wait for a 9-5 schedule.
Key Responsibilities:
- Respond promptly when called out for snow and ice events.
- Clear snow and ice from residential and/or commercial properties.
- Use snow-removal equipment (plows, shovels, snow blowers, salt/sand spreaders) as required.
- Maintain communication with dispatch or team lead.
- Work outdoors in winter conditions — snow, ice, cold temperatures, possibly overnight or early morning shifts.
- Provide high-quality service: safe, timely, efficient.
- Ensure your vehicle/equipment is ready and that you arrive at designated sites when needed.
- Follow safety procedures at all times.
- Report any equipment issues, job-site obstacles, or weather-related complications.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Must have own reliable transportation (to move between job sites) and be able to reach the service area in a timely manner when called.
- Valid driver’s license and maintain a safe driving record.
- Be on-call 24 hours during snow events (i.e., able to respond when needed, even nights/weekends).
- Ability to work in changing schedules and adverse weather.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, reliability.
- Able to use snow removal tools or equipment (experience a plus, but can train the right person).
- Comfortable working outdoors in cold, snowy, icy conditions and physically performing the job (shoveling, lifting, standing, etc.).
- Good communication skills — able to take direction and respond quickly.

West Des Moines, Ankeny, and possible other locations.
Schedule & On-Call Details:
- Seasonal position (winter months).
- On-call status: when snow/ice event triggers service call, you must be reachable and able to respond.
- Hours will vary depending on weather — may include early mornings, nights, weekends, holidays.
