Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Maintaining compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Support clients with meal preparation, ensuring nutritious and balanced diets tailored to individual needs
- Provide patient observation to detect changes in condition or behavior, especially in memory or dementia care settings
- Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts safely during transfers and mobility assistance
- Maintain cleanliness of living spaces by performing light housekeeping duties including cleaning and laundry
- Follow detailed care plans developed by healthcare professionals to deliver consistent, personalized support
Requirements
- Proven experience in home & community care, assisted living, nursing homes, or group homes setting
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including assisting with ADLs and medication reminders
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, Alzheimer's disease, dementia or memory care needs is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for resident transfers or mobility assistance
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and recognizing changes in health status
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation are a plus for community-based caregiving roles
