Job Description:

Elcor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, a 305-bed skilled nursing facility located in Horseheads, New York, is seeking a per-diem Physical Therapist to join our therapy team. As a Physical Therapist, you will play a vital role in restoring patients' function, alleviating pain, and preventing disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed physical therapy.

Responsibilities:

• Restore patient function, alleviate pain, and prevent disabilities by planning and administering medically prescribed physical therapy.
• Provide quality care by assessing and interpreting evaluations and test results.
• Determine physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians or by prescription.
• Help patients accomplish treatment plans by administering manual exercises, giving massages, and using equipment as necessary.
• Evaluate and record patient progress, modifying treatment plans, and trying new treatments if required.
• Evaluate the use and fit of prosthetic and orthotic devices by observing, noting, and observing patient's progress; and recommending adjustments and modifications.
• Document patient care services by charting in-patient and department records.
• Instruct patients in proper in-home exercises and therapies.
• Educate patients and their families about the recovery process and the challenges they will face.
  
  
  

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy (DPT)
• Minimum of one year of physical therapy experience
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
• Pleasant bedside manner and motivation skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Basic computer skills
• Service-oriented and instructing and teaching skills
