Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3 years of experience managing construction projects with a General Contractor (GC)
- Direct experience supporting industrial water/wastewater facility design and construction
Proven experience leading the full construction scope, including:
- Subcontractor buyout
- Safety and field execution
- Schedule ownership
- RFIs and submittals
- Change management
- Pay applications
- Coordination of all trades through project turnover
- Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, and resources in a fast-paced, complex environment
- Strong understanding of estimating, construction methods, and project delivery models
- Knowledge of safety standards and best practices in construction environments
- Strong client-facing, communication, and relationship management skills
- Highly organized with strong problem-solving and analytical capabilities
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage priorities and work independently
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office Suite, project management tools, etc.)
- Willingness and ability to travel 50% based on project needs
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end execution of water/wastewater construction projects across design-build, construction management, or construct-only delivery models
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients/owners, managing communication, expectations, and overall project delivery
- Partner with preconstruction teams to support RFP responses, including conceptual estimating, scheduling, and proposal development
- Review and monitor design progress; provide input on constructability, scope, and cost impacts
- Develop detailed project estimates, cost codes, and implement cost control systems
- Manage subcontractor procurement, including bid packaging, leveling, qualification, and contract awards
- Establish project team structure and coordinate closely with field leadership, including superintendents
- Build and manage project schedules, conduct regular site meetings, and maintain schedule updates
- Oversee project financials, including labor tracking, cost reporting, forecasting, and budget management
- Coordinate permitting, inspections, and regulatory approvals with governing authorities and A/E partners
- Manage RFIs and submittals, ensuring alignment with project timelines and specifications
- Lead client progress meetings, manage correspondence, and provide regular project updates
- Oversee change order process, including negotiation, documentation, and budget updates
- Manage invoicing and pay applications to support project cash flow and collections
- Review and approve subcontractor/vendor payments, ensuring compliance with contract terms and insurance requirements
- Address subcontractor and supplier performance issues, including documentation and corrective action as needed
- Monitor project execution for quality, safety, and compliance with company standards
- Coordinate all trades through project completion and turnover
- Support development and mentoring of junior team members
- Lead project closeout, including punch lists, final documentation, and warranty coordination
