Our client, a leading fuel distributor, is seeking an Associate Dealer Development Manager to join its team. This is an outstanding opportunity for a high-potential professional looking to build a long-term career in territory management, business development, and dealer relationship management. The ideal candidate will have experience in B2B sales, territory management, account management, retail operations, convenience stores, hospitality, field operations, or another dealer/distributor facing role. If you enjoy working independently, building long-term customer relationships, and partnering with business owners to help grow their business, this role offers an excellent opportunity to develop into a Territory Manager.
Working alongside experienced Dealer Development Managers, you'll receive hands-on training while learning every aspect of the wholesale fuel business—including dealer operations, field execution, branding, financial performance, and customer relationship management. As your experience grows, you'll assume increasing responsibility with the goal of managing your own territory.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Experience in B2B sales, territory management, account management, retail operations, convenience stores, hospitality, field operations, or another customer-facing leadership role.
- Must reside within the assigned territory (New Jersey, Pennsylvania, or Delaware) with the ability to travel extensively throughout the region.
- Proven ability to build strong customer relationships and communicate effectively with business owners.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; Excel experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Build and develop relationships with fuel distributors and independent business owners throughout your assigned territory.
- Travel throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Delaware supporting dealer locations while maintaining a home office.
- Conduct site visits to evaluate branding, merchandising, safety, operational execution, and overall site conditions.
- Assist with dealer onboarding, training, operational improvements, and business transitions.
- Support new business development by identifying prospective dealers and assisting with territory growth initiatives.
- Learn fuel pricing, margin management, inventory controls, and the key drivers of dealer profitability.
- Partner with Operations, Pricing, Marketing, Accounting, and Maintenance to ensure exceptional dealer support.
- Participate in acquisitions, rebrands, site conversions, and other strategic business initiatives.
- Maintain accurate reporting while demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and exceptional customer service.
