Are you passionate about animal care and enjoy leading a team? We are seeking a dependable, compassionate Part-Time Kennel Supervisor to oversee our busy boarding and kennel department during evening hours.
This leadership role is ideal for someone with previous kennel or veterinary experience who enjoys mentoring staff while ensuring the highest level of care for our boarding patients.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and support a team of approximately 10 part-time kennel assistants.
- Ensure the health, comfort, cleanliness, and safety of all boarding and hospitalized animals.
- Perform daily kennel duties including feeding, walking, exercising, cleaning and disinfecting kennels and hospital areas, bathing pets as needed, monitoring animal behavior and reporting concerns, laundry, dishwashing, and general facility cleanliness.
- Create and manage staff schedules.
- Assist with hiring, onboarding, training, and employee development.
- Monitor team performance and provide coaching and support.
- Ensure kennel protocols and hospital standards are consistently followed.
- Communicate effectively with veterinarians, technicians, and client service staff.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a veterinary hospital, boarding kennel, or animal care facility preferred.
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience is a plus.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities.
- Ability to lift 40–50 pounds and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
- Reliable, dependable, and committed to providing exceptional animal care.
Schedule
- Part-time
- 5–6 evenings per week
- Approximately 3:45 PM – 8:00 PM
- Rotating weekend availability required as the hospital is open 365 days a year.
