We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and team-oriented Assistant Patient Care Manager to join our growing multi-doctor veterinary hospital. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled veterinary technician who is ready to take the next step into leadership while continuing to utilize their technical skills in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Working alongside our Patient Care Manager and hospital leadership team, the Assistant Patient Care Manager plays a vital role in maintaining exceptional patient care, supporting our veterinary technicians, and helping develop a positive, collaborative workplace culture.
Primary Responsibilities
- Assist the Patient Care Manager with the daily operations of the technical staff.
- Provide hands-on veterinary technician support as needed.
- Co-lead the training and mentorship program for new veterinary technicians and assistants.
- Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, onboarding, and mentoring new technical team members.
- Support employee development through coaching and performance feedback.
- Assist management with technical issues involving billing, patient care, client communication, workflow, and hospital operations.
- Ensure hospital protocols and standards of care are consistently followed.
- Collaborate with doctors and leadership to improve efficiency and communication.
- Help identify opportunities to improve hospital systems and patient care processes.
- Promote a positive, team-focused culture.
Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience as a veterinary technician in a busy multi-doctor veterinary hospital required.
- Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Experience training and mentoring veterinary technicians.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with Provet Cloud practice management software is a significant plus.
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (RVT/LVT/CVT) a bonus but equivalent experience will be considered.
Schedule
- Full-time position
- Rotating Saturdays required
- Combination of opening and closing shifts
