El Futuro is currently hiring a full-time, 30 hours per week, Bilingual Project Manager for Youth Mental Health and Community Engagement to coordinate logistics for our Latine Adolescent and Young Adult Program (LAYA); includes recruiting and engaging participants; maintaining timelines, tracking data, and ensuring deliverables are completed and reported to internal and external stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have passion for working with youth and experience in community health, nonprofit programming/clinical mental health settings, particularly within under-resourced or Latino communities. Candidates should bring strong organizational skills, attention to detail, cultural humility, and a collaborative spirit.
This position will be based out of our Durham office, with a hybrid schedule, working a regular schedule of 30 hours per week. Schedule includes flexibility to work evenings and weekends. Must be available for Friday morning meetings 9:00-11:00am (mostly virtual).
The annual salary for this position starts at $48,000.00, based on experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The Project Manager for Youth Mental Health and Community Engagement performs a wide range of functions including, but not limited to the following:
- Support the vision and growth of the LAYA program, working closely with LAYA Lead.
- Lead project implementation, data tracking, and deliverables for grants and work related to LAYA Program, and Green Space across county and state-level efforts.
- Oversee youth engagement activities including the LAYA Youth Advisory Council and youth-led campaign planning.
- Manage cross-sector partnerships (e.g., schools, faith organizations, LGBTQ groups) in support of mental health and harm reduction outcomes.
- Lead evaluation efforts including logic model implementation, focus groups, outcome surveys, and grant reporting.
- Collaborate with communications staff on marketing and culturally relevant messaging for youth and substance use prevention education and harm reduction.
- Work with El Futuro Programs leadership to coordinate internal efforts regarding statewide impact for community engagement efforts
- Monitor and manage program budgets in alignment with grant requirements, including tracking expenditures, forecasting spending, and supporting financial reporting.
- Coordinate maintenance of Therapeutic Green Space, Community Engagement events and programming in the Therapeutic Green Space, tracks and reports impact of the space in mental health in the Latino community.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF EL FUTURO STAFF
- Participate in meetings and organizational related activities as directed by the supervisor, which may include All Staff Meeting, Individual Supervision, participation on a committee, or other activities.
- Play an active role in the continued development of El Futuro’s work via participation in fundraising and other agency-wide activities.
- Engage in learning opportunities through “La Mesita”, El Futuro’s training platform and network of bilingual providers in North Carolina, or through other appropriate career development opportunities.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) preferred, in Public Health, Psychology, Sociology, Education or related disciplines OR equivalent training and experience.
- 2 years of experience in project management, preferably in clinical/health setting, mental health advocacy or community-based initiatives.
- Experience in clinical or health service grant and project development and management or similar experience preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
- Required: Fully bilingual in English and Spanish.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
- Knowledge of mental health issues, particularly within immigrant or Latino communities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Zoom, and data collection tools (e.g., RedCap)
- Familiarity with project management platforms (e.g., monday.com) and cloud-based systems (e.g., Box.com) as well as Canva to create flyers

WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Hybrid role: Primarily remote with at least one day per week in the Durham office.
- Requires flexibility to work approximately three evenings per week and two weekends per month for community outreach events in Durham, Wake, Orange, and Chatham Counties.
