The Victim Advocate/Case Manager provides comprehensive, trauma-informed advocacy and case management services to child victims of abuse and their non-offending family members. The position focuses on ensuring access to supportive services, navigating systems, and promoting victim rights in alignment with Cal OES AT Program guidelines. The Advocate serves as a key point of contact for families, offering emotional support, education, and resource coordination.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide crisis intervention, emotional support, and ongoing advocacy to child abuse victims and their families.
- Conduct intake assessments to identify client needs, safety concerns, and service gaps.
- Develop and implement individualized case plans in collaboration with clients and multidisciplinary partners.
- Assist clients with navigation of systems including law enforcement, child welfare, medical, legal, and social service systems.
- Provide information and education regarding victim rights, available resources, and program services.
- Coordinate referrals to internal and external services such as counseling, medical care, housing, and financial assistance.
- Participate in multidisciplinary team (MDT) meetings and case coordination activities as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant case records and data required by Cal OES and agency policies.
- Advocate for client needs while maintaining professional boundaries and confidentiality.
- Support program outreach and community education efforts as assigned.
- Other duties as required.

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Psychology, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of one (1) year of experience providing advocacy, case management, or direct services to victims of crime, children, or families.
- Knowledge of victim rights, trauma-informed care, and child abuse dynamics.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with child abuse victims or within a child advocacy center or MDT setting.
- Bilingual or multilingual abilities relevant to the community served.
- Familiarity with Cal OES-funded programs or victim services reporting requirements.

Computer Skills

Driving
