The Shipping & Receiving Agent is responsible for managing daily activities related to the receipt, shipment, and tracking of materials, ensuring accuracy and efficiency. The role involves coordinating truck routes, overseeing shipments, maintaining accurate records, and supporting the warehouse and shipping teams to meet customer delivery and quality requirements. This position also identifies opportunities for process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee incoming and outgoing shipments, ensuring accuracy and condition.
- Coordinate truck routes and supervise drivers.
- Manage customer pick-ups, material loading, and necessary paperwork.
- Monitor delivery equipment maintenance and recommend new equipment purchases.
- Perform general warehouse tasks such as stock organization, housekeeping, and material handling.
- Ensure materials are verified for type and quantity upon receipt.
- Assemble and prepare customer orders for shipping, ensuring proper packaging.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal shipping regulations.
- Seek continuous improvements to efficiency and lead-time.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree or relevant experience preferred.
- Strong computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, JobBoss2).
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Shipping/receiving experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Forklift experience preferred.
Compensation: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
