Summary:
This role focuses on KPI and SLA design, operational reporting, deep business analysis, and Excel-driven modeling rather than heavy data engineering or platform build-out. You will partner with operations and business leaders to define meaningful metrics, monitor service levels, and deliver timely, actionable reports that improve outcomes.
Responsibilities:

- Operational Analysis: Perform root cause and trend analyses to identify opportunities, risks, and performance gaps; produce concise recommendations and next steps.
- Excel Modeling and Automation: Build robust Excel models, pivot-driven analyses, and automated reporting templates using formulas, advanced functions, and macros when appropriate.
- Minimal Data Querying: Run and validate light SQL queries or extracts as needed to pull data for analysis; collaborate with data teams when complex extraction or transformation is required.
- Stakeholder Partnership: Work closely with operations, account teams, and leadership to ensure metrics are understood, actionable, and adopted across teams.
- Data Quality and Governance: Validate incoming data, document metric definitions and data sources, and escalate discrepancies to ensure trusted reporting.
- Presentation and Storytelling: Synthesize findings into clear presentations and one-page summaries for non-technical audiences.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics, Analytics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 3-5 years in a data or business analyst role with strong emphasis on KPI/SLA work, operational reporting, and Excel-based analysis.
- Tools: Advanced Excel skills including pivot tables, lookup functions, array formulas, and basic macros. Experience with Datadog, Power BI or Tableau for visualization and scorecards.
- Querying: Basic SQL knowledge limited to writing simple selects and filters to extract data; heavy SQL or scripting is not required.
- Analytical Skills: Strong problem-solving, quantitative reasoning, and ability to translate data into actionable recommendations.
- Communication Skills: Clear written and verbal communication with ability to present to senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Organization: Proven ability to manage multiple reporting streams, prioritize requests, and meet recurring deadlines.
- Experience in media, entertainment, or technology operations.
- Familiarity with formal SLA frameworks and operational performance management.
- Experience documenting metric dictionaries, runbooks, or measurement playbooks.
- Experience working with business teams to operationalize KPIs and drive continuous improvement.
