JOB SUMMARY Under the direction of a Special Education Teacher, Classroom Teacher or other assigned administrator, assist in the instructional program and behavioral management of physically, emotionally and learning disabled students in Resource Specialist Programs and/or any other regular education of special education program; provide instruction through any practical means including distance learning; be a positive role model to students in basic living skills, social interactions and academic development. Perform other job related duties as assigned by Supervisor. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Education/Certification: • Minimum 48 college units or have met formal academic assessment • CPR/First Aid certified Special Knowledge/Skills: • Read, write and speak fluently in English and Spanish • Ability to assist in instructing reading and writing • Ability to work well with children • Ability to communicate effectively • Minimum one year experience working with students in a school environment setting • Ability to demonstrate regular, dependable attendance and punctuality Ability to pass fingerprints (DOJ), TB test and drug screen WORK SCHEDULE Monday-Friday 7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. WORKING AT EJEA The working environment at EJEA is built on professionalism, collaboration, and high standards.
