Job Description
We are seeking an Electrical & PLC Software Engineer with solid hands-on experience in Allen-Bradley and Siemens PLC platforms. The role involves PLC programming, electrical system support, and on-site commissioning for industrial automation projects across the United States.
This position requires a flexible engineer who is comfortable working at customer sites during installation, testing, startup, and handover phases.
Key Responsibilities
PLC & Software Engineering
- Develop, modify, and troubleshoot PLC programs using:
- Allen-Bradley (Studio 5000 / RSLogix)
- Siemens (S7-300/400, S7-1200/1500, TIA Portal)
- Configure and test HMI/SCADA systems (FactoryTalk View, WinCC, or equivalent)
- Perform I/O checkout, interlock verification, and functional testing
- Support FAT and SAT activities
Electrical Engineering
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and I/O lists
- Support panel inspections, field wiring verification, and loop checks
- Coordinate with electricians and commissioning teams on-site
- Troubleshoot electrical and automation-related issues
Site & Commissioning
- Travel to project sites across the USA (commissioning and startup support)
- Work directly with customers, contractors, and internal engineering teams
- Support system startup, ramp-up, and handover
- Prepare commissioning reports and as-built documentation
Technical Requirements
Required
- 3 years of PLC programming experience
- Hands-on experience with:
- Allen-Bradley PLCs (ControlLogix / CompactLogix)
- Siemens PLCs (S7 series, TIA Portal)
- Experience with industrial communication networks:
- Ethernet/IP
- Profinet / Profibus
- Ability to read and understand electrical drawings
- Familiarity with VFDs, sensors, actuators, valves, and motors
Preferred
- Experience with industrial automation systems (conveyors, paint shops, process lines, HVAC, material handling)
- Basic knowledge of functional safety (E-Stop, interlocks, safety relays / safety PLCs)
- Field commissioning experience in the USA
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field
- Willingness and ability to travel within the USA
- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
- Valid work authorization for the USA (or eligible to work)
