The Lab Stockroom (TLS) is our newest brand—a digital-first, customer-centric destination for the modern science shopper. We’re building it from the ground up, and we’re looking for a creative who wants to help define how it looks, feels, and shows up everywhere our customers find us.

The Role:

We’re hiring an Ecommerce Creative Designer to own the visual execution of The Lab Stockroom across every channel where our customers meet us—our Shopify storefront, email and social, product photography and video, and marketplace creative on Amazon, eBay, and Walmart.

This is a true hybrid creative role. You’re a strong graphic designer first, and you can also capture and edit clean, shoot-ready product imagery and short-form video on-site—phone-shot reels and product clips are fine. You apply and extend the brand standards we’ve set—translating them into PDPs, landing pages, email campaigns, A content, social posts, and product shoots that feel cohesive and intentional.

You’ll work directly with the Ecommerce Merchandising Manager and alongside our Ecommerce Content & Growth Specialist. We care about the work, not the years on a resume—if your portfolio shows the range and quality we need, we want to talk to you.

Key Responsibilities:

Brand & Visual Design

  • Apply and extend The Lab Stockroom brand guidelines across every customer-facing touchpoint
  • Design landing pages, collection pages, banners, and promotional creative for Shopify
  • Build email creative in Klaviyo: campaign templates, modular blocks, and on-brand visual hierarchy
  • Design social content (static and lightweight motion) for organic and paid placements
  • Create infographics, A content modules, and storefront assets for Amazon, eBay, and Walmart
  • Maintain a usable, well-organized library of brand assets, templates, and design files

Product Photography & Video

  • Plan and shoot product photography on-site: hero, tabletop, lifestyle-style, and detail shots
  • Style and stage products for camera in a small in-house setup
  • Edit and retouch images to platform specs (Shopify, Amazon, eBay, Walmart)
  • Capture and edit short-form video: product clips, reels, and social-ready content (phone video is fine)
  • Coordinate with the ecommerce team on shot lists tied to new product launches

Ecommerce & Marketplace Creative

  • Produce PDP imagery, image stacks, and supporting visuals that drive conversion
  • Build Amazon A content, brand store modules, and infographic assets
  • Support new product launches with full creative packages across channels
  • Partner with the Content & Growth Specialist to align copy and visuals

Collaboration & Execution

  • Work directly with the Ecommerce Merchandising Manager on creative direction and priorities
  • Manage your own queue across multiple concurrent projects with clear timelines
  • Document creative SOPs, templates, and file conventions as the brand scales
  • Bring ideas to the table—you’re a builder, not just an executor

Required Skills & Experience:

  • A portfolio that demonstrates strong graphic design fundamentals: typography, layout, hierarchy, color
  • Demonstrated experience designing for ecommerce, DTC, or consumer brands
  • Product photography you’ve personally shot and edited, ready to use on a storefront
  • Some demonstrated experience capturing and editing short-form video—phone-shot product clips or reels are fine, but you need to have done it
  • Proficiency in professional design and photo editing software (Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, Canva, Affinity, or equivalent—we care about the output, not the tool)
  • Ability to apply and extend an existing brand system across multiple channels and formats
  • Strong organizational habits: file naming, version control, asset management
  • Comfort working on-site in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
  • Self-direction—you can take a brief, ask the right questions, and deliver

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience designing for Shopify storefronts and Klaviyo email
  • Familiarity with Amazon A content and marketplace creative specs
  • More advanced video editing or motion design (longer-form content, simple animation, transitions)
  • Experience styling and shooting product photography in a small in-house studio setup
  • Familiarity with scientific, educational, lab, or technical product categories
  • Comfort with large product catalogs and the systems thinking that requires

Portfolio Required

A portfolio is required to be considered for this role. Please submit a link or PDF with your application. We want to see range, not just highlights—ecommerce or brand design, product photography you’ve personally shot and edited, at least one short-form video sample, and any email, social, or marketplace creative you’ve produced. For each piece, tell us briefly what you contributed and what the brief was

Working Conditions

  • Fast-paced entrepreneurial environment; no two days are exactly alike.
  • Standard office environment with occasional need for light lifting (up to 25 lbs).
  • Typically works in an office with adequate lighting and ventilation and a normal range of temperature and noise level.
  • Work assignments are diversified.
  • Examples of past precedent are used to resolve work problems.
  • New alternatives may be developed to resolve problems.
  • A frequent volume of work and deadlines impose strain on a routine basis.
  • Working hours Monday – Friday, may require extended hours based on the needs of the business.
