Job Summary
Einstein Tutoring is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Paraprofessional to support students with diverse learning needs in individualized, one-on-one, and small group settings. The ideal candidate will assist in implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and 504 Plans, while fostering an inclusive, nurturing environment that promotes each student’s academic, social, and emotional development.
This role requires strong communication skills, flexibility, and a passion for helping students overcome challenges and achieve success outside the traditional classroom environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct instructional and behavioral support to students in accordance with their IEPs and 504 Plans.
- Collaborate closely with assigned teachers, therapists, and Einstein Tutoring staff to adapt materials and strategies based on individual student needs.
- Assist in creating structured, engaging learning environments — including homebound, hospital, and virtual settings.
- Support the implementation of positive behavior management plans to encourage appropriate social and academic behaviors.
- Prepare and organize learning materials and activities tailored to each student’s goals.
- Monitor, track, and report student progress to assigned teachers and Einstein Tutoring supervisors.
- Communicate professionally and compassionately with students, families, and educational teams to ensure coordinated support.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and training aligned with best practices in special education and differentiated instruction.
Qualifications & Experience
- Previous experience working with students in special education, homebound instruction, hospital settings, or similar environments is strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of IEP processes, accommodations, curriculum modifications, and behavior management strategies.
- Experience supporting students with disabilities such as autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, physical impairments, and cognitive challenges.
- Ability to work independently, adapt to diverse student needs, and maintain detailed documentation.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
