BUYER

The Buyer is responsible for sourcing and purchasing goods to ensure high quality while meeting operational needs. This role helps to ensure timely availability of supplies at competitive costs while maintaining inventory levels ad supplier relationships. The functions of this position will help to support production , warehouse, and quality teams to ensure timely delivery to customers.

Essential Functions

• Build and maintain relationships with new and existing suppliers, while evaluating products, prices, and reliability in a professional manner.
• Analyze and execute purchasing initiatives on behalf of customer and business needs.
• Analyze industry trends to support sales and customers in innovation goals.
• Monitor inventory levels, forecast demand, and collaborate with internal teams to align supply and purchases with business needs.
• Create and issue POs within the ERP system and follow them through until delivery.
• Monitor stock levels and safety stocks to ensure the correct inventory is available when needed.
• Analyze sales and demand forecasts to make purchasing decisions.
• Communicate effectively across all departments on product timing and arrivals.
• Build, maintain, and manage supplier relationships in a professional and responsible manner.
• Track supplier performance and resolve delivery delays and invoice discrepancies.
• Assist with other purchasing initiatives as needed or required.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time salaried position

Travel

Travel is necessary at times during key customer meetings, trade shows, and conferences.

Education, Skills, and Experience

• Minimum of an Associate Degree in Business or a related field is desired, however, will consider relevant years of experience in lieu of education
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, Power Point is required

Work Environment

The work environment varies between the office, production plant, and warehouses. At times while in the plant you may be exposed to allergens, powered equipment, and loud noises.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. The employee must be able to sit for the duration of the shift, lift up to 25 pounds daily, bend, twist, stand, and work on a computer daily.
