Description

We are seeking an owner’s Construction Manager to join our team. In this fixed-term position (through approximately August 2027), located at our client's site near Fresno, CA. This role offers competitive compensation and benefit packages. Compensation: $150,000 - $180,000 *Anticipated annual salary may vary based on skills, experience, qualifications and internal peer equity.  The pay range listed for this position is based on the anticipated base compensation at the time of the posting.

Work Arrangement: Work hours on-site are anticipated to be 40 – 50 hours per week pending project schedule with the possibility of more hours if the project requires acceleration.

Position Summary:

The Construction Manager serves as the Owner’s primary construction representative onsite, responsible for preparing and presenting project reports to the client while monitoring field construction activities performed by the General Contractor and commissioning efforts for a plant expansion project within a cGMP facility. This role ensures the contractor has the necessary information to execute the work effectively and monitors safety, quality, schedule, progress, and financial performance on behalf of the Owner. The Construction Manager is also expected to proactively identify potential risks or constraints and develop solutions to maintain project timelines and achieve critical milestones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manages multiple, related functional disciplines or a single highly specialized complex function; Develops and implements strategic programs and policies for their functional group, which will have impact on the overall organization; Complex project management capabilities; Works with executive management on significant matters influencing the organization’s business results
  • Ability to visualize and design new concepts and ideas related to functional area of expertise; Broad knowledge of business operations and ability to implement and sometimes lead organizational change effectively; Solutions are derived from interpreted and applied general information.
  • Represent owner’s interests for timely and on budget completion of projects while maintaining quality and project safety. Position reports directly to owner Project Manager and indirectly to Eichleay Director of Construction.
  • Manages and directs through managers, supervisors, or advanced level professionals.
  • Will interface with General Contractor, Owner’s Project Manager, executive management, customers, and outside vendors.
  • Act as liaison between engineering and field construction performed by General Contractor.
  • Assists with coordination of manpower, materials, and equipment to maximize efficiency, maintain schedules, and to meet budget goals. Anticipates and resolves various problems such as changes in scope, slippage of schedules, and budget overruns.
  • Work with owner’s Scheduler to maintain accurate Master Schedule.
  • Coordinate delivery, storage, and installation of owner purchased equipment
  • First point of contact for contractor submittals and RFI’s and will provide initial review and response before sending to engineering for a response.
  • Facilitate timely review of contractor submittals and RFI’s in order to maintain schedule and minimize contractor change orders.
  • May be responsible for all written reports and interface with clients. Reports may be written or given by formal presentation.
  • Applies the company’s labor relations policies.
  • Represents the company in the field and may act as official liaison with client representatives, subcontractors, and government representatives, to ensure effective implementation of all Company and client policies and procedures.
  • Establishes and maintains strong job and community relations.

Job Requirements:

  • Experience: Ten years of relevant experience including technical and supervisory experience is preferred; Eight years supervisory and/or management experience; Manages work directly or indirectly through Managers.
  • Education: BA/BS degree in related field or applicable discipline, or equivalent or relevant experience.
  • Safety: Demonstrates awareness of health, safety & environment issues; takes action to ensure zero harm to all employees, customers, contractors and the environment.
  • Performance: Customer-focused mindset with the ability to work effectively in a team-based environment.
  • Collaboration: Strong communicator with the ability to present complex proposals and reports to executive leadership, influence key stakeholders, and lead through a collaborative, team-focused approach that drives engagement and partnership.
  • Industry Requirements: This role will require some or all of the following requirements at time of hire or during employment:
  • Background screening including previous employment, education, criminal history, and driving record verification.
  • Valid driver license.
  • Participation in random drug and alcohol programs.

  • While performing duties of this job, you would occasionally be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear (this includes being able to hear and talk on site based communication equipment), distinguish between various colors, be able to hear safety tones/notifications, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools, temperature or controls.

 

  • Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

 

  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perceptions, and the ability to adjust focus.

 

  • Candidates will be required to follow our clients' site-based rules and protocols regarding infectious diseases.

Positions will require in-person interactions and may require working on site in an office or field environment. This position is subject to federally mandated drug/alcohol testing. This will require in-depth drug screening for all positions.
