We are actively building a network of Process Engineers with 5 years of experience to support increasing project demand across our organization. Positions will be based in Ferndale, WA and throughout the Western United States. We are seeking to talk to experienced professionals who have a passion for process design, PFD/P&ID development, and multi-discipline project execution. Positions will require the ability to support and contribute to complex industrial projects across one or more sectors including but not limited to refining, chemicals, life sciences, power, food and beverage, and advanced manufacturing environments.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years’ experience in Refining, Chemicals, Power, Life Sciences, Food & Beverage, Advanced Manufacturing, or related industrial industries.
General Core Responsibilities (may vary based on position)
- Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, safety and environmental issues. Address issues as necessary to ensure zero harm to all employees, clients, and contractors with zero environmental incidents.
- Consistently achieve goals, delivering quality and accurate work while meeting project schedules, including reviewing project documents for conformity and quality assurance.
- Support development of process engineering deliverables and construction work packages for review and approval.
- Develop and define process design basis, process flow diagrams (PFDs), and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Perform process engineering calculations such as mass and energy balances, heat transfer, fluid flow, and equipment sizing.
- Support specification and selection of process equipment including pumps, vessels, heat exchangers, and process systems, in coordination with mechanical and other disciplines.
- Participate in and support process safety activities including HAZOP, LOPA, and relief/flare system design reviews.
- Develop and review operating philosophies, control narratives, and process descriptions supporting I&C integration.
- Support scope development and create technical specifications for process systems and modifications.
- Prepare material requisitions, technical bid evaluations, and vendor submittal reviews.
- Respond to construction RFIs and support field activities as required.
- Provide man-hour estimates and support cost estimating and proposal development.
- Attend and participate in Client and Eichleay project team meetings. May require in-person interactions including site visits.
- Maintain schedule and budget commitments.
- Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Support construction, commissioning, start-up, and client turnaround activities as required.
Preferred Requirements/Skills
Education:
- Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or related discipline from an ABET accredited program.
- Licensed PE or working toward licensure is highly desired.
Skills:
- Ability to coordinate across disciplines in a multi-discipline EPCM environment.
- Demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools in engineering workflows while maintaining responsible charge and accountability for deliverables.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Bluebeam.
- Ability to coordinate with clients, vendors, and project teams.
- Ability to manage budgets and schedules, independently or with guidance.
Technical Competence
- Experience developing process flow diagrams (PFDs) and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Experience performing process calculations including material and energy balances, heat transfer, and fluid flow.
- Experience with process equipment design and selection including pumps, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and reactors.
- Experience with process safety systems and methodologies including HAZOP and LOPA.
- Understanding of control systems integration and process control philosophies.
- Experience working with multi-discipline teams including mechanical, electrical, I&C, and piping.
- Experience supporting industrial facilities including refining, petrochemical, and manufacturing environments.
- Experience in regulated industries such as life sciences, cGMP manufacturing, or food & beverage is preferred.
- Familiarity with industry codes, standards, and regulatory requirements applicable to process design.
- Experience supporting retrofit, expansion, or brownfield projects is preferred.
Industry Requirements
This role may require all or some of the following:
- RSO/HHFT Safety Training or ability to obtain.
- Client-specific safety training and badging.
- TWIC card or ability to obtain.
- Background screening (employment, education, criminal history, driving record).
- Participation in random drug and alcohol programs.
