Join our vibrant team as a Part Time Breakfast Chef Assistant and bring your culinary passion to life in a dynamic, fast-paced environment! You will support the kitchen team three days a week from 7:30 am until 2:30 pm doing a variety of activities.
Duties
- Assist in preparing a variety of breakfast items, including eggs, pancakes, fruits, and baked goods, following established recipes and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, poaching stations, braising pots, and food processors safely and efficiently
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety sanitizing procedures and proper food handling practices throughout all stages of meal preparation
- Support menu planning by preparing ingredients in advance and ensuring timely delivery of breakfast service
- Help with food production for high-volume mornings, ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes
- Clean and organize workstations regularly, following food safety management protocols to uphold hygiene standards
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure seamless service during busy breakfast hours
Requirements
- Previous dietary aide or food industry experience preferred; experience in fine dining or restaurant settings is highly advantageous
- Demonstrated skills in food preparation techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and knife skills for precise ingredient handling
- Knowledge of food safety sanitizing procedures and safe operation of kitchen equipment
- Experience with menu planning, recipe adherence, and meal preparation in high-volume environments
- Strong understanding of food handling regulations and dietary department standards
- Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced setting
- Flexibility to work mornings on a part-time schedule; enthusiasm for culinary arts and customer service is essential
