Position Summary
The Maintenance Technician supports safe and reliable plant operations by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems. This role helps maximize equipment uptime through strong mechanical skills, accurate documentation, and compliance with EFTEC quality, safety, and environmental requirements.
Essential Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance inspections and routine servicing on machinery and equipment.
- Clean machines and machine parts; remove and reinstall components as needed.
- Oil and lubricate moving parts to ensure effective performance.
- Troubleshoot and identify root causes of unexpected breakdowns.
- Repair equipment quickly and efficiently to restore production operations.
- Record and report damaged, worn, or broken parts; order and install replacement parts.
- Dismantle machines/equipment to access defective parts using hand tools, power tools, hoists, and cranes.
- Inspect parts using measuring instruments (rules, calipers, micrometers, etc.).
- Operate cutting torches and/or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts (as qualified).
- Maintain shop organization: tools, parts, inventory, stocking, cleanliness, and supplies.
- Coordinate maintenance schedules with managers and collaborate with engineering on equipment/product changes.
- Prepare maintenance reports and track key metrics as assigned (MTBF, MTTR, downtime/uptime).
- Follow spill reporting/clean-up procedures and all EHS requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Quality / Safety / Environmental Requirements
- Follow EFTEC Quality and Environmental Policy.
- Comply with ISO 45001, IATF 16949, and ISO 14001:2015 EMS requirements as applicable.
- Complete required EHS training and adhere to safe work practices at all times.
Qualifications
- 5–10 years of industrial maintenance experience (mechanical and/or electrical).
- Certification or related technical training preferred.
- Mechanically inclined with strong troubleshooting/problem-solving skills.
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office or similar; data entry/maintenance documentation).
Physical Requirements / Work Environment
- Frequent standing/walking, bending, reaching, and moving throughout the facility.
- Ability to visually inspect equipment; work in high-noise environments with PPE.
- Ability to work in restricted spaces, crawl/climb, and work at heights as needed.
- Must be able to lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
