What are the responsibilities and job description for the Waterbase, Paint, Coatings Chemist position at EFTEC NORTH AMERICA L L C?
- Applies and interprets standard scientific theories, concepts, and techniques.
- Formulating w/b coatings, including sound deadeners and underbody materials.
- Finds and approves alternative raw materials: Scaling-up to Production. Problem-solving.
- Writing reports for customers.
- Runs routine chemical analyses, tests, determinations, and investigations.
- Develops solutions to problems (customer and internal)
- Utilization of applicable government regulations (DOT, TSCA, FDA, etc.)
- Participates in trade shows, conferences, and technical seminars as needed
- Guides and mentors the research efforts of less experienced technical staff.
- Interacts with other technical staff, sales, business managers, and the outside technical community including.
- Prepares and presents project reports to customers and project sponsors.
- Maintains a lab book according to company standards
Qualifications:
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry (required; advanced degree preferred).
5–15 years of experience working in a laboratory environment.
Proven experience with Lean Manufacturing principles.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (required); experience with QAD or other ERP
systems preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and sit for prolonged periods.
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds.
Manual dexterity and visual acuity sufficient for laboratory work.
