Overview:
As a Merchandise Coordinator, you will directly support the buying team in managing product assortments, order processing, vendor communication, and inventory coordination within our HF Duty Free business. Your role will ensure smooth operational execution of the buying strategy and contribute to delivering a best-in-class retail experience for cruise guests across multiple ships and ports.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist buyers with the execution of product assortments, order entry, and system maintenance.
- Communicate with brand and supplier partners regarding product information, order status, samples, pricing updates, and promotional materials.
- Track purchase orders, monitor inventory levels, manage replenishments, and assist in allocation planning to ensure optimal stock across cruise ships.
- Prepare sales reports, stock reports, and other performance analyses to support data-driven buying decisions.
- Maintain accurate product databases, support SKU creation and maintenance, and handle necessary documentation related to orders and vendor communications.
- Work closely with planning, logistics, and shipboard operations teams to ensure seamless execution from product sourcing to onboard availability.
- Assist the buying team in coordinating product launches, seasonal collections, and promotional activities through administrative and operational support.
Requirements:
- 1-2 years of experience in merchandise coordination or related retail support positions (travel retail or cruise industry experience a plus).
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel and PowerPoint) and experience with retail inventory systems (e.g., JDA, Oracle, SAP, or similar).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for working with vendors and internal teams.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to occasionally travel to support buying meetings, vendor appointments, or cruise operations if needed.
Preferred:
- Background in luxury, beauty, fashion, or accessories categories.
- Familiarity with international logistics, duty-free regulations, or cruise retail operations.
Hourly Rate:
$24.04 – $28.85 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications.
