Job Overview

Effy Jewelry is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support our Retail Division. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing daily transactions, handling accounts payable and receivable, and performing bank reconciliations. The Bookkeeper will also assist with audit preparation and help ensure the integrity of our financial processes in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities

Financial Records Maintenance:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software and spreadsheets.
• Record daily transactions, including sales, purchases, receipts, and payments.

Accounts Payable and Receivable:

• Process accounts payable invoices, ensuring accuracy and timely payment to vendors.
• Issue customer invoices and statements, and follow up on outstanding receivables.

Bank Reconciliation:

• Reconcile bank statements with internal records to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies.
• Investigate and resolve any discrepancies or errors in a timely manner.

Audit Support:

• Assist in the preparation of documentation and schedules for internal and external audits.
• Collaborate with auditors to provide necessary information and resolve any audit findings.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role, preferably in the retail industry.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and financial reporting.
