Efficient Home, LLC is a leading Energy Efficiency Services Company. We are hiring for a Residential Installation & Repair Technician for the Baltimore region. We work with homeowners, residential buildings, building professionals, and Contractors in providing Inspection, Auditing, and Installation supporting home/residential energy efficiency.
Responsibilities
You will improve energy efficiencies and reduce power bills by helping homeowners with minor repairs and updates to things like air sealing, insulation, HVAC repairs, minor roof repairs, duct repairs and ventilation of bath fans and dryers. You will use your home repair skills for very basic carpentry, electrical, and drywall repairs. You’ll work closely with a Senior Installer to be trained on specific Energy Retrofit Installation work.
After initial training, you will continue to work closely with the Senior Installer, as well as more independently. You will plan and manage your daily schedule. You will travel daily within the region in response to client needs. You will complete reports required to ensure proper client follow up and scheduling of upcoming installation jobs. You may also oversee and coordinate various subcontractors on some installations. A company vehicle and gas card are available for tenured employees.
Minimum Qualifications/Skills
- 2 years working experience with basic home repair skills in any of the following: Carpentry, Electrical, Drywall.
- High School diploma is required; college coursework/degree is preferred.
- A valid driver’s license with reliable transportation to reach client sites throughout the Baltimore region. (NOTE: gas expenses will be reimbursed!)
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Ability to carry and set-up equipment, weighing approximately 40 lbs., access attics and crawl spaces by climbing ladders and crawling.
- Able to operate simple hand tools.
Critical Additional skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Customer service focused.
- Self – starter with established organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently with strong attention to accuracy and detail.
- Computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, and able to use basic business tracking & scheduling tools and conduct simple internet research.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain BPI and OSHA certifications preferred but not required to start, ability to obtain these certifications (Efficient Home will pay for candidates to go to training and to obtain certifications).
