Facilities Coordinator

Salary range: $16-18/hr

We are looking for a dynamic, passionate team player to join our team at EF’s flagship campus in Miami. The campus consists of a 68,000 sq foot main building with over 95 residential units, dining facilities, classrooms, and pool facilities. As a service department within this active campus, it is vital that our student and staff needs and expectations are exceeded and that all facilities are presented and maintained to the highest standards.

The Facilities Coordinator will partake in many of the day-to-day operations of the Facilities Department, including internal staff and independent vendors that conduct business on the property to inspect and maintain electrical, plumbing, HVAC, landscaping, and janitorial on the campus. You will collaborate with staff and residents to ensure protocols are followed, assist Housekeeping and Housing departments, schedule routine preventative and reparative maintenance, plan new projects, and perform emergency repairs. You and the rest of the Facilities Department will ensure building maintenance, landscaping, and pool services are conducted on a regular basis and that the campus interiors and exteriors are attractive and hygienic.

What You’ll Do

  • Have a comprehensive understanding of proper repair procedures for commercial units that provide power, water, and comfort to the campus.
  • Under the general direction of the Facilities Manager, be proactive for the maintenance of the campus facilities operations and all utility infrastructure systems.
  • Participate in various maintenance service and supply contracts and assist in administering a utility infrastructure system, preventative maintenance program, and renovation and construction projects for the campus utility systems.
  • Together with the rest of the team you will monitor the performance of emergency and routine maintenance on-campus facilities and adhere to federal regulations governing environmental protection, occasional handling of hazardous materials, and the use of chemical substances.
  • Encourage continuously improving individual competencies, developing effective teams, motivating improved performance, and shaping the workforce the organization needs to accomplish its mission.

Who You Are

  • Possess excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills to develop cooperative working relationships with various campus clientele, including students, staff, and vendors.
  • Be highly motivated, proactive, and have a positive attitude with strong commercial awareness.
  • Work confidently with maintenance issues with a strong hands-on approach while enjoying working in a busy and varied environment.
  • Maintain a solid attention to detail and have the ability to work independently with strong decision-making skills, excellent communication, and customer service skills.
  • Must be able to clear a Criminal Background check and be able to communicate clearly.

This is a full-time, seasonal position. Standard workdays are Monday through Friday and weekends as scheduled. It will vary based on operational needs while overseeing and maintaining staff coverage Sunday through Saturday.

About Us

Some companies are in the business of banking. Others are in the business of shoes. Or sports. Or soft drinks. At EF, we're in a different kind of business. One that's a little less tangible, and a lot more important. Because our business, what we make, makes everything else possible. We're in the business of understanding. Between people. Between cultures.

For over half a century we’ve been the leader in international educational programs and experiences designed to foster such understanding. Through language, cultural exchange, academic studies, and educational travel, we create the kinds of immersive experiences that challenge biases, open minds, and pave the way for a more understanding world.

You’ll find our offices and schools located in some of the world’s greatest cities, and filled with smart, driven people (over 50,000 of us) who push each other to be better every day. But it’s what we do together - building greater understanding, breaking down barriers, and creating a better world - that makes all the difference.
