As Activity Manager, you’ll lead the activities team—managing staff and overseeing the planning and quality of on- and off-campus events for EF Language Abroad students. You’ll engage daily with students, ensuring excellent service and support while they enjoy Miami’s best activities and events. The Activity Manager reports directly to the School Director.

About The Position
- Plan, organize, promote, and oversee a year-round calendar of on- and off-campus events —including free activities, large-scale events, excursions, and seasonal highlights.
- Coordinate transportation, safety protocols, and staff coverage; ensure compliance with EF’s risk-management standards and respond effectively in emergencies.
- Foster high student satisfaction by creating memorable, inclusive experiences that encourage language use and cultural exchange.
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise Activity Leaders, Resident Assistants, and seasonal staff.
- Provide clear guidelines, support, coaching, and reviews to foster team accountability and growth.
- Manage budgets and supplies, forecasting revenue and controlling costs while meeting engagement targets.
- Supervise staff and supplier payments, ensuring payments are made accurately and on time.
- Negotiate with local businesses and major venues to secure exclusive access, preferred pricing, and partnership opportunities, increasing both value and profitability.
- Support campus-wide initiatives such as intakes, graduations, and special group programs.
- Help plan and organize staff events and familiarization (FAM) trips.
- Lead the school’s social media presence with strategic, event-driven content.
- Maintain a rolling calendar and remain flexible, adapting quickly to weather changes or operational needs.
- Work collaboratively while taking initiative when needed.
- Work flexible hours, including some evenings, weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak season.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in hospitality, event management, education, or a related field.
- 2-3 years of operational and staff management experience.
- Works well under pressure—able to lead in emergencies, resolve conflicts, and adapt quickly in a fast-changing environment.
- Positive and energetic—a natural hype person and a friendly, outgoing individual who enjoys engaging with people from different backgrounds and isn’t afraid to be playful or go ‘all in’ to keep students engaged.
- Proven ability to manage large budgets and negotiate vendor contracts.
- Creative and communicative—skilled at generating new ideas and connecting with students of varied English levels.
- Legal right to work in the United States (EF does not provide sponsorship).
- Knowledge of Miami’s cultural, recreational, and entertainment landscape preferred.
