Primary responsibilities include producing accurate AutoCAD and Revit documentation of all campus buildings, utilities, and infrastructure, managing the Drawing Room, identifying documentation variances, coordinating with the outside contractor drawing system (ZLink), and supporting project development and planning for facility improvements.

Position Description
The Architect provides site investigation and campus documentation services for the Engineering Service Projects & Construction Section at VALBHS. Primary responsibilities include producing accurate AutoCAD and Revit documentation of all campus buildings, utilities, and infrastructure, managing the Drawing Room, identifying documentation variances, coordinating with the outside contractor drawing system (ZLink), and supporting project development and planning for facility improvements.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Create full campus architectural and engineering documentation including utilities in AutoCAD and Revit for all existing campus buildings.
- Prepare detailed, scaled AutoCAD and Revit drawings, reflected ceiling plans, and elevations with proper layer standards and notation.
- Perform site investigations across the 100 acre, 20 building campus; identify variances between drawings and built environment.
- Interpret and review architectural plans for concurrence with VA TIL standards and specifications.
- Update drawing files in coordination with outside contractor (ZLink system); document departmental changes and space functions after moves or minor construction.
- Identify and recommend solutions to complex interrelated problems; escalate concerns to Section Chief.
- Maintain Drawing Room and archive including original building drawings for the Medical Center.
- Identify, develop, and manage improvement projects including building renovations, infrastructure, and utility systems.
- Apply working knowledge of ABAAS, VA Barrier Free Design Guide, TIL, ICC, OSHA, IFC, and Life Safety codes.
- Coordinate with Contracting, Logistics, EMS, OI&T, Material Management, and Engineering stakeholders.
- Bachelor's Degree in Architecture required (SP7 standard).
- Minimum 5 years of architectural experience including minimum 2 years of site investigation experience, preferably in healthcare (SP7 standard). Minimum 2 years each AutoCAD and Revit experience required.
- Candidates must provide copy of architectural degree and resume demonstrating 5 years architectural experience including site investigations per SP7.
- Candidates must demonstrate AutoCAD and Revit proficiency.
- Knowledge of healthcare design; fire, life safety, building, and barrier free codes. Microsoft Project and Teams beneficial.
- Must meet stated deadlines and communicate effectively.
- NCARB registration preferred; PMP, EDAC, and/or LEED certifications preferred.
Salary : $102,000 - $112,000
