The Digital Shelf Content Specialist (DSCS) will maintain and curate one of the top assets in our company. The DSCS works at the intersection of product content strategy, e-commerce operations, SEO/AEO/GEO optimization, digital merchandising, and product data management.
This role is responsible for creating, optimizing, enriching, and maintaining product content across retailer, marketplace, and digital commerce channels. This role ensures discoverability, content accuracy, customer engagement, and conversion by transforming vendor-provided product information, catalogs, images, and internal data into complete, consistent, search-optimized digital shelf content.
- Location: Semmes, AL (This position is primarily on-site. A hybrid work schedule may be considered based on business needs and the successful candidate’s qualifications.)

Essential Functions of the Role
Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate and complete product content in internal product information systems, including PIM platforms and spreadsheet-based content workflows.
- Optimize product content for SEO, AEO, GEO, retailer search, customer readability, and conversion.
- Optimize content for each retailer platform based on their specific guidelines, algorithms, and customer behaviors.
- Support item onboarding processes for assigned retailer accounts, including submitting new products via retailer portals and templates.
- Create, revise, and optimize product titles, long descriptions, bullet points, keywords, and supporting product copy for retailer and marketplace channels
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders (vendors, graphic designer, etc.) to enhance product content and imagery.
- Monitor live product listings across retailer websites to verify accuracy, completeness, consistency, and alignment with approved content.
- Track and troubleshooting item setup issues to ensure products are published and perform on-site.
- Stay current on e-commerce content trends, retailer platform changes, AI-driven search behavior, and digital shelf best practices.
- Support new product launches, seasonal updates, customer-specific assortments, and retail partner initiatives.
- Maintain documentation of content processes, workflows, and retailer requirements.
- Track digital shelf KPIs (e.g., content health score, product findability, organic traffic, etc.) and report on performance improvements.
Core Competencies
Skills, Talents, Personal Attributes and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, E-commerce, Communications, Business Administration, Education, or a related field; equivalent professional experience in digital content, product content management, retail e-commerce, or digital merchandising may also be considered.
- 2-4 years of experience in e-commerce, digital merchandising, or product content management, SEO content, copywriting, catalog management, or related digital commerce work.
- Strong understanding of digital shelf strategy, SEO for retail, AEO/GEO optimization, marketplace content standards, and online shopping behavior.
- Experience working with retailer portals and marketplace systems (e.g., Amazon Vendor Central, Office Depot Vendor Portal, Walmart Item 360, Target Partners Online, etc.).
- Experience with PIM systems and Excel-based onboarding templates.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and data accuracy.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- HTML knowledge, graphic design familiarity, or experience with tools such as Salsify, Syndigo, Profiter, Canva, Adobe Creative Cloud, GA4, or Looker Studio is a plus.
- Experience using Microsoft Teams and Outlook in a professional setting.
