Job Description:
Interviewing, educating, and advising members of their mortgage options at Educators Credit Union. Providing members with the opportunity to become a homeowner.
- Keeps informed of current trends in mortgage lending and market factors affecting mortgage lending.
- Educate and advise members regarding other Credit Union services when it is beneficial to the member.
- Interview members, receive loan applications, and process new loans including 1st and 2nd mortgages.
- Handle pre qualifications for members both on the telephone and in person for real estate loans.
- Council members on steps to take in order to be able to obtain a mortgage in the future and provide home buying information.
- Prepare extension agreements when requested.
- Perform mortgage closings.
- Performs other duties as needed.

- To provide first class service and support to members, coworkers, and other partners. - To demonstrate willingness to work in and support a team. Process mortgage applications and get them to the processing department within 24 hours.
- To maintain working knowledge of all mortgage products and rates.
Required Experience:
- Courtesy, tact, and diplomacy are essential elements of the job. Work involves much personal contact with others inside and/or outside the organization for purposes of giving or obtaining information, building relationships, or soliciting cooperation.
- Must enjoy working with people, have good communication skills, and be able to work as part of a team.
- Knowledge of the secondary market and experience with first and second mortgage residential real estate lending.
