Job Title: Facilities Tech
Department: Facilities/Fleet
Education Level and Certification: High school degree or GED. Maintenance, grounds, and HVAC certification/experience preferred. Must maintain at all times during employment an unrestricted motor vehicle operator’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
Reports To: Facilities/Fleet Manager
Performance Responsibilities and Job Tasks
- Monitor building security and safety.
- Moving, loading, and unloading heavy furniture, equipment, and supplies, either manually or by using equipment.
- Remove snow from sidewalks, driveways, and parking areas, using snowplows, snow blowers, and snow shovels, and spread snow melting chemicals.
- HVAC maintenance, troubleshooting, system monitoring by performing needed PM on HVAC systems (chillers, boilers, rooftop units, air handlers) to ensure efficient operations.
- Make adjustments and minor repairs to ventilating, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Maintain grounds by fertilizing, applying pesticides, watering, maintaining sprinklers, mowing and trimming.
- Performing routine painting and plastering of interior and exterior buildings surfaces, signs, furniture, and equipment. Performs minor repairs of furniture, doors, windows, shelves, and floors.
- Assists with replacing light bulbs, outlets, and switches, and other items as needed.
- Service, clean, and supply restrooms and gather and empty trash.
- Periodic deep cleaning and back up duties of: restrooms, trash, sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, vacuuming, windows, shampooing carpets, and dusting.
- Follow procedures for the use of chemical cleaners and power equipment.
- Notify supervisors concerning the need for major repairs or additions to building operating systems.
- Set up, arrange, and remove decorations, tables, chairs, ladders, and scaffolding to prepare facilities for events such as banquets, meetings, and assemblies.
- Participates in ESU staff meetings, projects and committees.
- Perform other tasks or duties as signed by the ESU 13 Administrator, Director or other supervisors.
- Complies with the Standards for ESU 13 Code of Ethic.

At-Will Position. This position is an “at-will” position and may be terminated, with or without cause, at any time in the sole discretion of the ESU 13 Administrator or ESU 13 Administrator’s designee.
