Job Description – Instructional Technology Coach (TOSA)

Title: Instructional Technology Coach

Reports To: Executive Director of Teaching and Learning or their designee

Terms of Employment: Salary and work year as established by the Board of Education and in accordance with the collective bargaining agreement.

Job Goal / Purpose

The Instructional Technology Coach builds capacity for innovative and effective use of instructional and administrative technology in support of the mission and goals of Whitehall City Schools. The coach supports teachers, building leaders, and administrators in effectively integrating technology to enhance instruction, strengthen student engagement, and advance district priorities.

Qualifications

  • Valid Ohio teacher certification/licensure.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of successful teaching experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and use of a rich array of instructional practices and strategies.
  • Strong history of innovative teaching practices and building student aspirations.
  • Demonstrated ability to model the effective use of instructional technology.
  • Knowledge of state professional development standards and instructional research.
  • Understanding of adult learning theory and its relation to technology integration.
  • Skills in collecting, analyzing, and applying data to support instructional decision-making.
  • Familiarity with ISTE Coaching Standards.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

Performance Responsibilities

Professional Development

  • Plan and facilitate professional development initiatives related to instructional and administrative technology.
  • Build the capacity of teachers, building leaders, and administrators to model effective use of technology.
  • Provide training that supports curriculum implementation, instructional practices, and assessment.
  • Stay current on trends in educational technology and share best practices.

Coaching & Support

  • Work collaboratively to effectively integrate technology into instructional plans.
  • Model innovative and effective technology use in classrooms.
  • Meet with school-level leaders and teachers to support implementation of the district technology plan.
  • Provide coaching, feedback, and follow-up aligned to district instructional priorities.

Collaboration & Leadership

  • Assist the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning in developing and implementing the district instructional technology plan.
  • Lead program evaluation and improvement efforts related to instructional technology.
  • Support the implementation and management of district-wide special projects and/or grant-funded initiatives as assigned.
  • Participate in technology planning committees and collaborate with district and building leadership teams.

Data & Accountability

  • Manage and oversee instructional technology systems.
  • Research and recommend technology solutions that meet the needs of students and staff.
  • Assist in preparing and presenting reports or materials as requested by the district office, Board of Education, or the State Department of Education.
  • Collect and analyze instructional technology data to inform decision-making.

Other Duties

  • Work collaboratively with technical support staff to ensure proper configuration of hardware and software.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all sensitive information as required by law and policy.
  • Perform other related tasks and responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director of Teaching and Learning or their designee.

Working Conditions / Physical Demands

  • Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluids, and tissue.
  • Excellent observation and communication skills.
  • May perform strenuous tasks, such as lifting, when working with students.
  • Support for students with behavioral and management needs.
  • Frequent interaction with a diverse population of students, staff, and families.

Evaluation

Performance will be evaluated in accordance with Board policy and provisions of the collective bargaining agreement, ensuring alignment with district goals and expectations.
