We’re looking for a caring and dependable Teacher Assistant to support our younger toddler classroom (12–18 months). This age group is energetic and curious, and you’ll play an important role in helping children as they begin walking, exploring, communicating, and building early independence. You’ll work closely with the Lead Teacher to maintain a safe, organized, and developmentally aligned environment.
Position Summary
The Teacher Assistant supports daily routines, classroom activities, and family communication while helping toddlers through movement, early language, and sensory exploration. This is a hands-on role in a supportive, team-oriented setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with movement-based activities for children learning to walk
- Support early communication through play and interaction
- Help maintain sensory and motor-rich learning spaces
- Assist with diapering, meals, and rest routines
- Encourage positive peer interactions
- Keep the classroom organized, safe, and clean
- Contribute to basic documentation and daily communication
- Support classroom operations as directed by the Lead Teacher
QualificationsEducation
- Associate degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or related field
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience working with toddlers (12–18 months)
- Understanding of toddler safety, routines, and basic development
- Ability to support sensory, motor, and movement activities
- Strong communication skills
- Reliable attendance and transportation
- Required Pennsylvania clearances (FBI, State Police, Child Abuse)
- CPR/First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
