What are the responsibilities and job description for the Child Care Aide position at Education and Training Connection?
Status: Non-Exempt/Hourly
Schedule: Part-time less than 20-25 hours per week or sub as needed
Education and Training Connection, located in Midland County, is currently in
search of a Before and After School Child Care Aide for the Bullock Creek Before
and After School Program.
Summary: Before and After School Child Care Aide will assist the Lead
Teacher/Director in organizing and leading activities of children grades K-5 in
classroom/gymnasium setting and during outside activities before and after
school at Bullock Creek Elementary School.
Education: High School Diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to
three months of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of
education and experience. Prefer at least one year of Child Development classes
and must be 18 years of age or older. CPR/First Aid Certified Preferred.
Qualifications, Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following:
- Organizes and participates in games, reads to children, and teaches children
similar activities.
- Follows lesson plans by teacher for reading, writing, arts, games or social
- Takes children outside for large motor play.
- Helps children develop habits of caring for own clothing and picking up and
- Maintains discipline using positive methods.
- Helps with preparation and serving of afternoon snack. Includes cleaning up
- Assists with cleanup of classroom by using the daily check list that is in the
- Communicates and provides a level of customer service to parents of
- Attends staff meetings.
- Attends conferences or workshops in child development field if appropriate.
- Other duties may be assigned.
