Job Description
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic faculty member to teach in our Medical Assisting. This is a part-time, professional position reporting directly to the Dean of Education. The primary responsibility will be to teach (insert subject) courses. The typical teaching load is two courses each term, with one or two preparations. Applicants will also be expected to provide academic advising to students, and participate in department training, meetings and graduation.
Requirements
- Completion of a Medical Assisting program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or Diploma; an associate degree is preferred but not required
- Certification:
- CCMA and/or RMA and/or CMA and/or NCMA
- RN, LPN or PA is an acceptable alternative route to become an MA Instructor
- CPR or BLS
- At least three years of full-time hands-on clinical experience in a patient-facing setting such as ambulatory care or outpatient clinic
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, motivated, and results-driven
- Prior higher education/postsecondary teaching experience preferred
