Job Description
We are seeking an energetic and enthusiastic faculty member to teach in our Medical Assisting Program. This is a full-time, professional position reporting directly to the Program Director. The primary responsibility will be to teach Medical Assisting courses. The typical teaching load is three courses each term, with two or three preparations. Applicants will also be expected to provide academic advising to students, assist the program director and participate in department training, meetings and graduation.
Requirements
- Completion of a Medical Assisting program resulting in a Certificate of Completion or a Diploma; an associate degree is preferred but not required
- Certification/Licensure:
- CCMA and/or CMA and/or RMA and/or NCMA
- LPN or RN is acceptable for becoming a Medical Assisting Instructor
- CPR or BLS
- At least three years of hands-on clinical experience in a patient-facing setting, such as ambulatory care, outpatient clinics, or primary care settings
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized, motivated, and results-driven
- Prior higher education/postsecondary teaching experience preferred but not required
