Our client, the U.S.’s largest commercial real estate services firm, is seeking HSE Coordinator to support operations at a large-scale data center in DeKalb, IL. This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for a safety-minded professional who is eager to build a career in environmental health and safety while working alongside client teams in a mission-critical environment. This role offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience supporting EHS programs, compliance initiatives, and safety procedures within a fast-paced data center setting. Schedule is Monday-Friday, 7:30am-4pm.
Job Description:
- Assist with the administration and execution of Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs within a data center environment
- Support compliance efforts by helping identify programs that meet regulatory requirements and client needs
- Maintain and update safety plans, procedures, playbooks, and documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance
- Conduct routine site observations and assist with identifying opportunities to improve workplace safety and operational efficiency
- Serve as a resource for employees and internal teams regarding safety procedures and best practices
- Participate in safety initiatives, training activities, audits, inspections, and compliance reviews
- Track and maintain safety-related records, reports, and documentation
- Support investigations, corrective actions, and follow-up activities as needed
- Collaborate with client teams to promote a strong safety culture throughout the facility
- Assist with special projects and additional EHS responsibilities as assigned
Must Have Qualifications:
- Strong desire to build a career in Environmental Health & Safety
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt in a fast-paced environment
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively with both internal teams and client stakeholders
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to follow established processes
- Ability to exercise sound judgment and solve problems proactively
Nice to Have Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a data center, industrial, manufacturing, construction, or facilities environment
- OSHA 30 certification
- ADCPR certification or experience as a safety trainer
- MUP training
- Environmental Health & Safety coursework, certifications, or related academic background
- Bachelor's degree or relevant education in Safety, Environmental Science, Occupational Health, or a related field
